CODE OF PRACTICE

The Government has introduced a Transparency Code for local councils and smaller authorities, with a turnover not exceeding £25,000. Brompton-on-Swale Parish Council fits into this category. The Parish Councillors will publish annually, no later than 1st July each year, various items of financial information as required by the Code. The Parish Council is required to publish minutes of all Parish Council meetings and agendas which you will find on the page headed Brompton-on-Swale Parish Council.

Each year the Parish Councils financial documents, including the Annual Return are reviewed by an Internal Auditor. An External Auditor, appointed by the Smaller Authorities Audit Commission Ltd may be required to review the Annual Return.

Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounting records for the year to which the audit relates

These documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to the Parish Clerk.
